This was a final project for the Graphic Design Studio class at Sacramento City College during the Spring 2010 semester. The purpose of this project was to choose an existing ad campaign and design a print ad that fit within the series. It had to match the tone of the already existing ads and be on-brand.
My choice was the “Too Light, Too Heavy” ad campaign for Bud Light. The biggest challenge of this project was that the Bud Light campaign had no existing print ads; it was entirely a TV commercial campaign. The trick was designing a print ad that complemented the TV ads, made sense and whose punchline could be understood in far fewer frames than a 30-second commercial. The result is the final project, dubbed “The Haircut.”
