California Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages Convention

The task was to design the logo for CATESOL and its 2008 convention titled “Growing Democracy: Classrooms, Communities and the Capitol.” Because the convention was in Sacramento, the convention committee wanted to include the city’s iconic State Capitol dome somewhere in the logo. They also wanted something that conveyed openness (a sense of having a say in a democracy).

The logo was used on the conference website, on banners, handouts, mailers, convention registration and program materials.

After the logo was approved, Rosebud Designs also designed the convention registration booklet (40 pages) and the actual program booklet (100 pages) distributed at the convention. The final run for both books was approximately 10,000.
